Thanks bro for walking me through the share folder thing, After I almost gave up---I figured it out and was able to successfully exchange info through the folder. By the way firewall has no issue with share folder---for future reference ---leave it turned on! and as well the knowledge will come in hand for backing up my dads comp to another.

I'm in fedora 8 now using both gnome and KDE. We will be setting up a server as well be using alot of commands in the terminal. I was so dumb the other night --so when I downloaded fedora 9 and burnt it to the cd I left the ISO zipped... haha live and learn I suppose.
