Beta starts January, then the demo then the game. Appears they have put forth a tremendous effort to get the COD followers to switch, we likely will be or we will stay with WAW since MW2 was such a joke it wasn't even funny, pun intended.My keyboard is supported, so apparently as the CO, with my squad leader also having the same keyboard, we can issue commands via the keyboard---I think...

The bad news: Battlefield Bad Company 2's PC beta has been pushed
back until "very early next year." According to Van Dyke, the
overwhelmingly positive response to the PS3 beta inspired the team to
increase the capacity of the PC beta. Unfortunately, this also forced
them to delay PC testing in order to further optimize the game.
Don't start a hilariously fruitless
boycott just yet, PC shooter fans; Van Dyke also revealed a handful of
PC-exclusive features for Bad Company 2, including an increased player
count, dedicated servers, and DirectX 11 support. Will these additions
be worth the wait? Read up on the full list of PC features below:
- Up to 32 Players on PC (24 on consoles) - Play with up to 32
players online in the biggest multiplayer Maps in Battlefield. Each
with a different tactical and gameplay focus set across a variety of
environments. - Full DirectX 9, 10 & 11 Support - Immerse yourself in
the Battlefield world as Frostbite engine brings tanks, helicopters and
explosions to vivid life on your PC. The game will fully support
Windows XP, Vista, and 7 with new tech that further improves things
like lighting and shadows. - Enhanced Gameplay - The PC version also includes wide
peripheral support like Joysticks for flying, NVIDIA 3D Vision,
Logitech LCD Keyboards and VoIP Support plus a variety of specific
features tailored for PC play. - Friend Support - Find your friends online with the new buddy
list to see if and who is online so you can quickly join their game. - Dedicated Ranked Server - Everyone gets non-stop action with
no connection penalties based on some other player's internet. Ranked
Server Provider program will give players opportunity to rent their own
server(s) located in professional grade datacenters, ability to modify
settings like map rotation, create reserved slots for friends or clan
members, kick & Ban players, and custom name your ranked server. - Clan Support & Private Servers - Independent Clan Tag,

I've been watching this and it looks promising. I asked for MW2 from the in-laws for Christmas, but maybe I'll return it to the store for credit on BC2. I notice that Best Buy is pre-ordering it for X360 & PS3, but not PC yet.
Definatle, if you get it----take it back for credit, my personal opinion is at this point in time, dont waste your money, I know I will not be moving to it permanently, and neither will many others, meaning the squad wont be either. Its fun, but not at the moment and it will not regain its fun level without the cheaters being resolved---in IW forums they act like there is no cheating and we are all crazy.
piss on 'em. i don't think i'll be buying from infinity ward or their affilliates ever again if they don't care about the contents, abilities or lack thereof that thier products produce and maintain. they obviously don't care about the consumer. bad company 2 had me from "dedicated servers". i'm excited.
The good of Bad Company 2 so far....
Good:
- Dedicated servers
- Ability to pick a player to spawn on (at least in the PS3 beta)
- Destructable buildings and cover
- seems to put a premium on cooperative game play
- Hardcore mode which is ranked and eliminates killcam, crosshairs, and HUD
- Selectable ROF on weapons which support it (ie, M16 allows you to select single, 3 round, and full auto)
- Unranked servers allow custom configs
- Punkbuster
- Punkbuster
- Did I say Punkbuster?
- Oh...and again...dedicated servers
and lets add to that list of good---Punkbuster and oh, dedicated servers---oh and destroyable buildings and cover :-)---one more cool feature----vehicles....and well done at that.
i like the bf games I have all of them but no one else played but I still play some times.
really liked the 2142 battlefield game. ranked pretty high their.

Cow, whats it play like? Is it similar to any of the games we have played?
The only one that I ever played was Battle Field 2. I didn't care too much for that one because the UAV/Commander feature coupled with atillary and vehicles seemed to overpower the foot soldier. I think that WAW has gotten me somewhat used to it now though.
Since the beta released we have more videos, all I can say is JO? :-) but better.......
Pay attention to the damage to buildings and sound while watching---I was watching and felt more like I was there than ever before, I hope the real release is equal. Check out the videos of actual gameplay (on the PS3 as that is only one to have it yet) Our demo releases this month sometime, I will post when its here, but if its as squad oriented as it looks, its a safe bet that will be our next accomplishment, we can purchase a server if we like the demo, it will be up on day one. I look forward to MW2 killer's release.

I'm really looking forward to this release. I've read some of the EA forums and the general opinion is that where COD/MW2 is RnG, reflex trigger pull; BC2 is more strategy & working as a team.
Something else that I'm looking forward to...the return of bullet ballistics. You will actually have to compensate for target movement/bullet drop for range in BC2.
Something I'm dissapointed in....BC2 doesn't have prone. That'll make it harder to hide/ambush I think.
You have to preorder to get all the cool upgrades to ur vehicles and get access to the beta---I have to say, those who participate in the beta will be the ones who detemrine if we feel it is squad worthy, it is not required, but we would like as many as possible to participate so we can have a well rounded opinion. You can always cancel the preorder if the beta sucks ass. I recommend doing it digitally thru EA games, they state u can reinstall as often as needed, and of course we can dl it on the day of release usually before anyone else gets thier copy, and also wont ever need to keep track of disks. Just saw new twitter on it, prone is confirmed in PC version, but no prone for ps3 or xbox, woot. Also our game server host will offer bc2 as well, woot

About 3/4 the way into the last video I posted a few days ago u will see a guy bust out what looks to be a large dart gun (it is) and fire it at a tank---this allows him to pull his AT4 out and fire from the hip---the dart gave coordinates so no aiming is needed---this perk can only be gotten from a preorder thru Gstop or EA games----if u preorder thru Gstop u will get an ak74 as well, nobody else gets this. Just some things to ponder---I am super excited.
I think all these extras are supposed to be unlockable in the game. But if you pre-order, you get them from the get go. At least that's what it sounds like on their forums.
I preordered today thru EA games, its a DL instead of disk, so I will get it midnight day of release (will be dl at 1201, lol) I chose EA games becuase of the fact that I get it the day of release and still get to play the beta (so I can cancel the order if it sucks), gamestop will let ya play the beta but only if u have the game shipped rather than in store pickup----They do not chanrge a dime to your card until day of releaase--that being said as many BRIG as possible need to go ahead adn preorder to play the beta with the rest of us, otherwise the decision as to if it will become primary will be made with a limited amount of us playing. So, if u preorder--play the beta and dont like it or are to broke to afford it, you can then cancel ur order and no harm---and u will get to play a new game starting Jan 28th----13 days from now :-)
10 days till the beta---if not ordered within 5 days of the release (so by friday this week) you will not get a beta code......so far its just Coaster and I getting the beta-----if Coaster preordered to have it delivered not pickup.

I dunno, I did check and all preorders can be cancelled befor release date for no charge---so all u need is the CC number to get access to the beta----cmon guys, it doesnt cost a dime, just some time to do the preorder--if u dont want it or cant afford it u can cancel it.

yes Ness, I would use ea digital downloads, correction I did use ea games, as did most of us. You only have like today to get it ordered, and even then the beta might be sold out, I posted here that you had to do it days before the release, it releases Thursday, so get it now and cross your fingers man. When u order, make sure it says all orders still get beta access.

Hello Scott. Myself and other clan mates ordered BC2 from EA games
to access the beta--I contacted you guys last week and was told we
should have the beta code that week, none of us have recieved it and it
opens for testing tomorrow, we are getting concerned...did we make a
mistake ordered from EA games?
Unfortunately, EA Customer Support does not have detailed information
on game development and releases, as well as the consoles that they are
to be released for. Information such as this is in the hands of the
game's developers.
I would also recommend visiting our news site at http://info.ea.com/,
which collects news and related media on upcoming releases as they are
made available.
I already have, spent 30 minutes waiting for you and was told last week
if I needed a beta to contact you this way and they would give me one
so if you cant help me after I was told to do this if I did not get my

better busness bureau complaint for failutre to provide services as

actually they will not, I already tried this route---is there a direct
number that will not keep me on hold for an hour? I feel management
needs to be made aware of this issue. Inconvienience is not the
problem, failure to provide promised goods is a problem. One of your
teammates told me to do this and I would get a code, either she lied or
something else is going on. As I said I have the transcript of her
telling me how to do this--it has cost me a ton of time and effort for
something I was told I would get last week and now you are passing the
buck to someone else.

I received my beta key from Gamestop at about 6pm EST on 1/27. I should be able to download and play at 9am EST today!
This def pisses me off, it clearely stated that EA guarntees it!
I got mine 3am, but all the dl sites have been down for over an hr, I just been refreshing them all in a row waiting.
I'm in a DL que at fileplanet right now...30 minute wait.
Coaster called me and I called Tex, fileplanet is the way to go.
